Feedback & results from Jeds questionnaire
The results & comments were read out, some of which were discussed in more detail. The summary will be published in the Wigan match newsletter but 3 of the topics were discussed in full and are listed below-
1) The guest speaker was discussed and it was agreed to go for Ronnie Whelan. We are looking at a Friday night in September at the railway club and will come back with more details at the next meeting.
2) Reminder to link your fan cards to Nathan so he can order tickets on line on your behalf.
3) Majority agreed that the new venue is better than the R&C mainly because the meetings are held in a private room. However, the overall opinion is still not one of contentment and alternative suggestions were made regarding a new venue next year.
Changing the night of the meeting was also discussed and Monday night appears to be the favourite. This will be discussed again at May’s meeting and a decision will be made at the AGM in June
Sir Bob Paisley.
Downing St announced today that Bob Paisley will not given a posthumous knighthood.
Players for the HJC cup?
Jed cannot manage this because Kidderminster are playing at Wembley the same day. No one offered to step in so unless we can find a budding Rafa we will not be entering a team.
Ticket managers report
The Wigan coach will depart at 09.30 prompt from the usual place.
The minibus for PSV home will depart at 2pm from the usual place.
The Semi final H & A is before the next meeting so could the 19 please keep an eye out on the forum for ticket & travel details. Anyone going will need to pay up front when asked.
Regarding the semi final away leg, assuming there is no disaster against PSV next week then we are inviting you all to watch the game as a branch at the Whitecross Tennis Club. We watched the PSV away game their and had a good night. If we can get a few more in next time it would be even better.
Committee meeting
The details of tonight’s committee meeting were discussed –
Jeds questionnaire – Some of the topics were discussed at the branch meeting.
Guest speaker – Also discussed at branch meeting.
Newsletter – Need to check with previous editors to see if they have got a template of the layout.
Date of next meeting – confirmed as May 2nd.
Agreed to fund a team to play at HJC cup in Liverpool .
Members missing more CL games than they go to-
Agreed to change rules next season so members only have one game grace if they miss, unless reasonable & unforeseeable circumstances.
Derren suggested suspending forum members who never post in an attempt to get more usage and stop those who post just to get tickets.
Also suggested that the mods of each forum should make more effort in starting new posts in an effort to attract more users.
AOB
Tony asked about the branch organising a stadium tour. If it is done when a game is played then its not a complete tour as you can only visit the museum & not the players changing rooms etc so it may be best to do it in the close season, maybe combining it with a tour of the city.
Date of next meeting . Wednesday May 2nd
Close of this meeting.
